Our Leadership
"Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave." - Matthew 20:26-27
"If I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example so that you should do as I have done for you. Truly, truly, I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them." - John 13:14-17
The overriding philosophy of our leadership is the instruction and example of Jesus Christ, who "did not come to be served, but to serve" (Matthew 20:28).
The Leadership of the Church
We recognise that in all things the true Head of the Church is Jesus Christ. (Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 5:23)
The Church belongs to Christ (Matthew 16:18). It is our privilege, therefore, to consciously seek to follow Christ in all that we do.
The people that you will see listed here, over time, are servants towards that greater leader.
On a practical level, this also means that the Word of God - the inspired record of God's revelation - is our guide in our beliefs, practices, policies and actions as individuals and as a church. As Jesus said, we must "live... by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4).
Our Church Tradition
Our church is a non-denominational, "independent" church. This means that we are not affiliated with a major denomination. We are, however, part of the church at large and seek to maintain and grow relationships with other churches and Christians both locally and globally.
Our basis is in the Evangelical tradition, with roots also in Sabbatarian groups, and similarities with many Baptist traditions. Therefore, we seek to align theologically with many of the established precepts of these traditions. We are not part of the Charismatic/Pentecostal movement, nor of the Catholic or Anglican traditions. However, above all things the ancient, orthodox Christianity revealed in the New Testament is our ultimate guide.
Local Leadership
We have commenced our church as a family working together to establish the congregation. We hope and aim to add more leaders over time - more servants - to our work for the Lord Jesus Christ.
